No, no, no, no… YES!
To support our local am-dram society, the Alton Operatic and Dramatic Society (AODS), RED Scientific invited our staff and their families to take a trip to see The Vicar of Dibley – starring our very own Darren White!
Founded in 1921, AODS has grown to become a two-shows-a-year society which supports causes in the local community as well as providing first class entertainment for the people of Alton – and a hectic social life for its members!
The Vicar of Dibley is a comedy set in the fictional small Oxfordshire village of Dibley, whose eccentrically conservative church is assigned the boisterous, non-traditional, chocolate-loving Geraldine Granger, following the 1992 changes in the Church of England that permitted the ordination of women. There is uproar in the village as Geraldine sets about proving her worthiness to the village (and tries to thwart the influential David Horton’s every attempt to upstage her).
It was an incredibly enjoyable evening, the show was hilarious and brilliantly put together – and Darren made for a rather wonderful Jim Trott!
