On Saturday 27th April, Julie Codling took part in Swimathon’s annual charity fundraising event, which raises funds for Cancer Research UK & Marie Curie. Participants can choose to enter as a team or as an individual and there are a choice of distances: 400m, 1.5km, 2.5km or 5km.
Julie opted to tackle the 5km swim as an individual and completed the 200 length swim in 2 hours and 12 minutes. She has raised over £1000 for the charities, which means she also gets a free entry into next year’s event!
You can find Julie’s fundraising page here. Well done, Julie!
“I completed my 5km swim on Saturday afternoon in 2 hours and 12 minutes, which was quicker than I was expecting. This was helped by me having a lane to myself, and in fact for the last 60 lengths I had the whole pool to myself as I was the only person at that venue doing the individual 5k!
Thank you all so much for your support. I have raised over £1100 for Cancer Research & Marie Curie.”
